Parent Meeting Notes: 1/8/2007

Blue and Gold: Feb. 24th

• Jim Collins will chair again this year.
• Same location - Shepherd of the Lake Church
• Famous Daves to Cater again this year.
• Last year it was $8.99 per person ˝ for kids – Jim will check costs.
• Cake – Same as last year
• Cut down on quantity of pop – we had leftovers last year.
• Tiger Dens will be asked to make centerpieces.
• Joe’s graduating den to coordinate program.
• Brian N. will be asked to make the programs again this year.
• Placemats: Joe will check with council to see if free and available.
• Reserve front/center for graduating Webelo Den.
• Podium – reserved from Prior Lake Rental. Jane will check price from last yr.
• Joe will check with parents in his den to coordinate help i.e. cut cake
• Need more serving utensils.
• Coffee and ice machine included in rental.
• Slide show – Rod Kruse handling.
• Registration Table/Collect Reg/BL : Den 3 (need 2-3 people)
• Cleanup: Everybody police their area.
• Last year we had 196 people attending.
• John will send note for den leads to get head count.

Budget:

January Pack Meeting: Snowtubing @ Buckhill

John will send out note asking Den Leads to get a hard count of who will be attending the event – by January 15th. Den leads will collect the money for those that wish to snowtube with their scouts i.e. siblings, friends, parents. They can collect before the event or upon arriving at the event. Cub Scouts will have their admission paid by the pack, adults, friends and siblings are $10.00 (a discounted rate!) with advance reservations. If reservations are made and scout and family is unable to attend, that fee will still apply. Additional people showing up at the pack meeting without reservations will pay $15.00. We currently have reservations for 80 people.

Jane will check: If additional people show up on the actual date, can they snowtube? Can we bring outside food? (if so, Joe will bring cookies and hot chocolate or juice) Also, is there an area where we can meet to collect money and hand out wristbands? Additionally, we do not have the meeting room this year – there is an additional charge for that. We will hold informal meeting at the bonfire.

Additional items:

Joe is leaving when his son graduates in February, leaving the Committee Chair position open. Please consider helping with this critical position in the pack.

Also, Jane will be leaving when her son graduates in 2008. For the next wreath season we will need someone to fill the Fundraiser position for the next wreath season with help from Jane. There will also be a need to fill the Treasurer and Secretary positons.

Historically, the graduating Webelo den hosts the Pinewood Derby. We will need an apprentice to work with Rod Kruse to run the software for this event.

We will need a “home” for the Space Derby apparatus.

Camp:

Signup for camp began January 3rd.

Some camp dates are already filled, so den leaders should discuss with their dens - as soon as possible – dates for summer camp! Wade has health forms for those that need them – they will also soon be available on our website.
