Polar Camp

Polar Camp is a one-day experience filled with plenty of fun, adventure, activity and advancement opportunities. Your day will include activities such as tubing, winter nature, games, snow obstacle course and learning how to keep warm and dry in the winter season. Learn more here or here. It is held at Phillippo Scout Reservation in Cannon Falls, MN. Final payment needs to be received prior to your camp date. Otherwise, you risk losing your reservation. If a conflict comes up it may be possible to change your reservation to another weekend, so please let the camp coordinator know right away of any conflicts.

You should plan on attending camp on your weekend regardless of the temperatures. Polar Camp has been held on days where the high for the day was zero degrees, so be sure to dress appropriately (click here for recommendations). Click here for policy regarding canceling Polar Camp due to weather. If there are extreme weather conditions the camp will alter the activities so that more of activities would occur indoors.

Check-in is 8:30AM – 9:00AM with the activities starting at 9:15AM. Please see map or Google Maps and plan your travel time accordingly. Car pooling is also a good idea. If you do get a late start or are delayed it is fine to check-in and catch up to your group. There are typically hundreds of scouts at Polar Camp and they will all be divided into groups. You can check-in, get your group assignment and then catch up to your group. You may miss an activity or two but will still be able to experience Polar Camp. Activities usually end around 3:00PM.

Hot lunch will be provided in the camp dining hall for everyone as part of the camp fee. If you have any food allergies or dietary concerns you should contact the Camp Director at 615-254-9135.

Each scout and each adult is required to have a completed health form turned in at check-in. For those of you who have a completed health form from a previous camp you can use the same form for Polar Camp. However, please check to make sure that the information on the old form is still current and change the date on the form.

Instead of everyone checking in at once, the camp requests that one individual from each pack collect the health forms and check-in the whole pack, when possible. The check-in is held in the Dining Hall so please meet anyone from Pack 336 just outside on the west side of the Dining Hall around 8:45AM. Designate someone to collect the health forms at that time and then go inside and check us in at 8:50-8:55AM.

Thanks and have fun at Polar Camp!
